A senior faculty associate at Magic Spell Studios, RIT, Malcolm is the former Administrative Chair for the School of Film and Animation, RIT. Malcolm’s teaching career at RIT dates back to 1976. Highlights of Malcolm’s filmmaking career include:

The Intrepid: Discovering Lincoln’s Balloon Corps: a half-hour documentary on the little-known history of the Union Balloon Corps; The Gift, two short documentaries on Organ Donation sponsored by the Rochester/Finger Lakes Organ Donor Network; The Reedy Series, eight international teleconferences (reaching an estimated 50,000 viewers each) including eight documentary shorts sponsored by Eastman Kodak. Malcom has received numerous prestigious awards including honors from the Chicago International Film Festival, Columbus International Film Festival, the National Educational Film Festival, Cine Eagle, National Endowment for the Arts Short Film Showcase and the Melbourne International Film Festival.
