Consumer Usage of Virtual Reality: A VRcade Owner Perspective

Isai Pochtar is the owner of VeRacity VRcade, Rochester’s premier virtual reality arcade. His fascination with video games dates back to the Intellivision Game Console and Commodore 64 computer of the early 1980’s. He has witnessed and participated in the evolution of gaming consoles and games. He prefers action-adventure and sport games and has fond memories of Intellivision’s Lock’N’Chase, NES Tecmo Bowl, Sega’s NHL ’93 and GTA: Vice City. He got into virtual reality soon after LSI 2017, with the arcade being conceptualized at the event. VeRacity VRcade is located in Henrietta, near the RIT campus.
Prior to VeRacity, he is a former international banker from New York City. He began his finance career at Brunswick a Russian brokerage firm that was acquired by UBS. In 1999, after the Russian economic collapse he joined Prudential Financial where he teamed up to build out their Emerging Institutional Group, covering the exploding hedge fund community. After Prudential shuttered in 2007 he returned to the international arena by relocating to Moscow, Russia and working for Alfa Bank, Russia’s largest private bank, providing coverage to Europe and Asia. In 2010 he returned stateside to lead Alfa Bank’s US operation. In 2013 he joined Strategas Research Partners to spearhead their Asia effort covering local sovereign wealth funds, mutual funds and hedge funds.
